Lasers are just plain awesome and our newest Fiber Laser is incredible!  We've been processing sheet metal parts using lasers since about 1997 and can now cut Copper and Brass along with standard Steel, Aluminum and Stainless.  Unlike a punch press, there is no tooling setup and the material does not move.  In order to start cutting a job the operator downloads the part program, adjusts the cutting parameters if needed and begins running parts.  With stand alone lasers, the sheet of material is held down by gravity and the laser head moves without ever touching the materials surface.  This allows for extremely fast processing, highly accurate hole and perimeter cutouts and no surface scratches.  Our lasers can also process parts with minimal to no sharp edges.  In fact we've eliminated about 90% of our "back end" shop labor because we don't have to deburr nearly as many parts as required with the punching process. 

All of our lasers have automated load and unload systems.  This means we can run your parts around the clock without anyone present tending to the machinery.  In fact, we run our lasers staffed under 2 shifts, overnight and over the weekends.  The only time human interaction is required when running in a fully automated state is loading more raw material, unloading finished parts or if there is some other problem.  Automated Load/Unload systems make it possible to run high volumes of parts without being limited to a typical 8 hour shift.
